Plot Summary
• It was the weekend but Jon wished it was a week night so he could teach and see Panee.
• Jon walked past the winter tents and saw the scar faced man again.
• The scar faced man spoke to Jon in Inuktitut.
• The man had no shadow.
• Panee tells Jon that no one was living in the tent and that an old woman had died there before Jon arrived in Nanuvik.
• Jon discovers that most Inuit believe in ghosts.
• Jon still blames his behavior on his mother and thinks that she was trying to get rid of him.
• Panne shares how the Inuit feel about their parents- that it is the job of the child to take care of their parents when they become teenagers.
• Jon visits Panee’s and Pudlo’s house.
• Pudlo tells Jon that Panee is engaged to be married. She will marry Edlout.
